How do I find people to connect with?
Tap the Explore tab to discover experiences, or go to your Profile → Find People to search by username. You can also join group lounges and meet people with shared interests.
How do I create a spatial experience?
Tap the Create tab, choose an experience type (world, time capsule, mark, or story), and follow the guided builder. You can import media, set ambience, and invite friends.
What is the AI Companion?
The AI Companion is your personal spatial assistant. Tap the floating button in the bottom-right corner to start a conversation, get recommendations, or check in on your wellbeing.
How do I control my privacy?
Go to Settings → Privacy. You can control who can see your presence, send you friend requests, view your activity, and access your location.
How do session budgets work?
Session budgets help you manage your daily screen time. Go to Settings → Wellbeing to set a daily limit. You will receive gentle nudges as you approach your budget.
Can I use AltScape offline?
Yes. Experiences you have downloaded appear in your Offline library. Go to Profile → Offline Experiences to manage downloads.
How do I report harmful content?
Tap the three-dot menu on any profile, message, or experience and select Report. You can also email trust@altscape.ai for urgent safety concerns.
What are AltScape Coins?
AltScape Coins are the platform currency used to tip creators, purchase experiences, and unlock premium features. Go to your Wallet to view your balance and purchase coins.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete Account. Your public profile is anonymised immediately and all private data is permanently erased after a 30-day grace period.
Is my data secure?
AltScape encrypts your data in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), enforces row-level security in our database, and applies strict access controls. End-to-end encryption is on our roadmap. See our Security page for our vulnerability disclosure policy.
What are Spatial Drops?
Spatial Drops are voice, photo, or video messages you leave in a place for friends to discover. Tap the Create tab, choose Spatial Drop, record your message, and drop it at your location or send it directly to a friend.
How do group invites work?
Group owners and admins can create invite links from the group detail screen. Tap Invite, choose how many people can use the link and when it expires, then share it anywhere. Anyone with the link can join instantly.
What is the difference between blocking and muting?
Blocking stops someone from seeing your profile, sending you messages, or appearing in your friend lists. Muting only silences their notifications while keeping the friendship intact. Both can be reversed at any time from Settings, Privacy, Blocked users.
What are streaks?
Streaks track how consistently you and a friend share experiences together. They are designed to be encouraging, not stressful. If you need a break, you can freeze a streak for up to 14 days without losing progress.
How does the Explore feed decide what to show me?
The Explore feed balances personalized recommendations based on your persona with fresh discoveries. Tap the info icon on any card to see exactly why it was recommended, and use the personalization slider to adjust the mix.
How do voice rooms work?
Voice rooms are real-time audio spaces where you can hang out with friends. Tap an experience that supports voice, then tap Join Room. You can mute yourself, adjust volume, or leave at any time. Spatial audio means voices sound like they come from where people are standing.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter your email. We will send you a secure reset link that expires in 1 hour. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder.
How do I switch between light and dark mode?
Go to Settings, Display and choose Light, Dark, or System. System follows your device setting and switches automatically at sunrise and sunset.
What accessibility features are available?
AltScape supports screen readers, dynamic type sizing, high contrast mode, and simplified navigation. You can also enable reduced motion for gentler animations. All settings are in Settings, Accessibility.
How do creator earnings and payouts work?
Creators earn coins when users tip, purchase experiences, or engage with premium content. Once you connect a Stripe payout account from your Earnings dashboard, earnings are transferred automatically every two weeks.
